Jonathan Is… is a narrative-driven video self-portrait developed for my Narrative Design course, exploring identity through collective perception. I began by asking friends and family to generate lists of words they associate with me, then transformed those descriptors into an animated typographic composition layered over stylized footage of personal skills, routines, and lived experiences. The piece integrates motion design, pacing, and visual hierarchy to construct a dynamic portrait shaped not only by self-representation but by external voice. Audio recordings of each contributor speaking their chosen words, woven together with a musical score, create a layered soundscape that reinforces the interplay between personal identity and communal reflection.
